Determining NIC Manufacturer

How can I determine my NIC's manufacturer from a running system. /proc/devices lists netlink architecture, but I am wondering how to determine the manufactuer.

Hi -

You can often find the vendor name with "lsusb" or "lspci" (for USB and PCI devices, respectively).

Otherwise, you'll usually have to look up the vendor ID, or actually look at the device.

'Hope that helps .. PSM

If it's a PCI card, you could try "lspci" in a terminal. That should give you some ideas.
