Determining IP information for eth0...SIOCADDRT: File exists

Hello,

I have a problem with my nic(SMC gigabit), it works okay (10/100), but not on gigabit..
gigabit is slower than the 100mb connection.

i get these messages:

#ethtool eth0:

No data to display.

#ifup eth0

Determining IP information for eth0...SIOCADDRT: File exists
done.

this happends since I replaced my motherboard.

What I can find out about the Asus P5GDC motherboard tells me that the nic is Marvell 8053 Gigabit. Unless you have something else on the board, then the contents of this thread should help: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/history/364808.
