Determining AP type

Looking at the iwlist scanning list I see 80211i/WPA2 Version 1,
I presume this site uses WPA2. Would that be correct?
Other sites with ESSID of ...ywifi show encryption key off and nowhere does it show WPA, WPA2, ad-hoc, WEP. Is this a WEP AP?
I can conjure no specific way to differentiate WEP from WPA1 in the output of iwlist. Can someone advise?

Q1 - yes
Q2 - If enkryption key is off, then there is no encryption - its free for all. That's why it does not show WPA or WEP
WEP is rather insecure and practically obsolete, it's probably why you are not seeing it.

Thanks for the confirmation. Slackware implementation of iwlist can show Xfinity's advertising gamet on routers whether the encryption key is on or off but without any definition of whether it is a WEP or WPA net. I will presume that it must be WEP because WPA uses wpa_supplicant that needs a passphrase in hex altho I think WPA1 can use a password in ascii as s:xxxxx.
