desktop control through internet

hi everyone,

My computer (windows 98) in office is behind a proxy server (red hat linux 9, squid proxy server). I want to access this computer (win98) from my home and use its desktop.
how can I do it? tunneling? how? and, yes, the public ip of the proxy server is fixed.

(I have full access/authority in the proxy server also.)

If you insist on using Windows 98 this will be VERY, VERY complicated and probably not worth it. You should consider using a third party provider like webex or gotomypc. Your insistence on using 8 year old technology will stuff up any other plans before you even start learning about outside NAT.

VNC should work fine for you. You can also look into RealVNC and Tight VNC.
