denied {read} for ifcfg-eth0

When I boot or shutdown Fedora Core 5.0 I see this error an error about reading ifcfg-eth0, and then the boot process says that it will use default values. dmesg says:

audit(xxxxxx): avc: denied { read } for pid=xxx comm="gerp" name="ifcfg-eth0" etc, etc

/etc/ifcfg-eth0 exists and gives rw permission to root and r permission to everyone else.

So what is the probloem? What do I do to get rid of these messages.

Note that I can still use the ethernet card, but if Fedora tells me that something is wrong then I want to fix it!

/etc/ifcfg-eth0 has no meaning to FC.

The files should be in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts.

From my FC5 box:
ls -l /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 144 Jul 19 17:17 /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0

I'm using the device driver that setup gave me. But even if it was the wrong driver, why would the card work, and why give such an odd error? The card is a 3COM 3CCE589EC which I have seen on hardware lists.

Angry Distribution

Which distribution you are using ?

And how did you add the device ?
Did you use to compile a driver or used the driver module coming along with the OS ?
