Dell Dimension 8100, redhat 7.3 and networking

I'm trying to get the network working with a Dell Dimension 8100 running RedHat 7.3.

The NIC is an integrated 3com card, I think. RedHat installed the 3c59x module but when I type 'ifconfig' I only get the local network information.

I suppose I need a driver, but where do I find it? If I don't need a driver is there some command I'm missing?

Any help is appreciated.

I had the same problem with a 5100 and broadcom NIC. What you need to do is go find a driver for linux for that card, make and model, and make sure you have your kernel source installed before trying to install the driver. Sorry I would be more in depth but i have to run to class, hope that helps some. I recommend searching redhat with those key words or google.

Thanks for the tip.

Turns out the driver was right under my nose. I figured it out with a little reading from the Linux Doc Project.
