Debian pptp problem

I am running Debian sarge. I connect to the internet using cable modem, but with a dialer, so it uses pptp. I have a strange problem, after some time the connection becomes unusable, I can't see any sites, or ping anything. If I disconnect and then connect again, it works ok.
I think it is my problem and not my ISP, because I also have Gentoo, and it works fine there.

Thanks in advance
