Debian can't find 3c905b

i've got a 3c509 card installed allready and i'm trying to install another one. I run modconf and select the 3c59x module, but i get an error message.

Warning: /lib/modules/2.2.20-idepci/net/3c59x.o symbol for parameter debug not found
/lib/modules/2.2.20-idepci/net/3c59x.o: init_module: Device or resource busy
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters
/lib/modules/2.2.20-idepci/net/3c59x.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.2.20-idepci/net/3c59x.o failed
/lib/modules/2.2.20-idepci/net/3c59x.o: insmod 3c59x failed

Installation failed.

It doesn't matter what i try. It's the same every time.
Does anyone know what the problem might be. I know the nic is working cause i have used it on former linux installations and in windows

If you already have an identical card installed, you don't need to load another module for it. The kernel will recognize both of them when you load the 3c905 module.

I don't have an identical card installed. It's a 3c509 ISA. it doesn't use the 3c59x module.

If it's an ISA card then the PCI module won't work with it. Make sure that ISA is supported by the kernel. But alas, that is the extent of my knowledge of ISA hardware. Good luck!

Ok, I understand now. I think I was wrong about the ISA card not using the 3c95x module. After a reboot does that module appear in the output of `lsmod`?
