DDNS and rndc

hi there,

i'm just about ready to scream, i've been trying to get bind9 DDNS working with DHCP but i can't even getting bind9 working at the moment. i keep getting all these rndc error's every time i try it seams to bea new error.

can someone please

1) explain to me what rndc is
2) show me a good DDNS and DHCP how-to
3) show me a way of doing DDNS without using rndc, or keys, or anything of that nature, i'm not looking for it to be secure, i just want it to work.

rndc: connection to remote host closed
This may indicate that the remote server is using an older version of
the command protocol, this host is not authorized to connect,
or the key is invalid.

Since you've had no answers I thought I'd take some guesses for you.
1) explain to me what rndc is
It looks like MDC either relates to your modem or use of MDC encryption.

These modems are from MDC searches.
(Conexant D480 MDC V.92/Intel 82801DB AC97)
(Inspiron 600m has PCTel 2304WT V92 MDC/Intel 82801DB AC97)

https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedo.../msg02640.html
https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedo.../msg02557.html
These items show a zone file with mdc.key entries and discusses the location of the config file as being a problem.
