Assuming that
dyndns_user = charlie
password = hejsan
hostname = charlie.homeftp.net
my file /etc/ddclient.conf is:
Code:
daemon=600 # check every 600 seconds
syslog=yes # log update msgs to syslog
pid=/var/run/ddclient.pid # record PID in file.
cache=/tmp/ddclient.cache # Cache file
use=web, web=checkip.dyndns.com/, web-skip='IP Address'
login=charlie # your DynDNS.com username
password=hejsan # your DynDNS.com password
wildcard=no
server=members.dyndns.org # default server
protocol=dyndns2 # default protocol
charlie.homeftp.net
It worked once with this configuration file (I think there was no difference!), I got in /var/log/messages:
Code:
Dec 12 21:01:28 linux-vl1l ddclient[3546]: SUCCESS: updating charlie.homeftp.net: good: IP address set to 79.216.222.22
But not anymore, I now get
Code:
Dec 12 21:18:24 linux-vl1l ddclient[2888]: WARNING: caught SIGTERM; exiting
Any wise advice how to find the problem and how to correct?
