dcgui-qt 3.1 and shorewall 1.4.9

Hello Im having trouble with dcgui and shorewall. I am trying to enter actve mode, and when I enable active mode on dcgui I can enter hubs and chat but I cannot perform any searches! I have firewall rules that allow incoming/outgoing transfers on port 9176. Tcp seems to work fine but udp not? I am using Suse 9.1 personal with the 2.6 kernel. All howto's seem to refer to kernel 2.2 or 2.4. Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong? Im a linux newbie so I dont know what log messages to post?
Any help is appreciated!!
