CUPS: What URI to use when a username is needed without a password

I have a debian pc on a network with a windows samba printer on another pc. This
samba printer needs a username but no password. So I expected the uri to be
something like: "smb://usrname:@workgroup/pcname/printer" , but cups does not
manage to connect to the printer using this, though everything is doublechecked using
smbclient on the commandline.

*cups version: 1.1.14
*samba version: 2.2

*/var/log/cups/error_log:
Code:

I [26/Feb/2005:17:35:45 +0100] Started backend /usr/lib/cups/backend/smb (PID 1646) for job 3.
E [26/Feb/2005:17:35:56 +0100] [Job 3] SMB tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
E [26/Feb/2005:17:35:56 +0100] [Job 3] Unable to connect to SAMBA host, will retry in 60 seconds...: Success
