Crossover application


I saw an application for linux that automatically "converted" a normal LAN cable connection into a crossover connection
Dont know its name though

I've never seen any software that can do this although you can purchase pocket sized convertors designed for this purpose.

there is NO magic in this world.

some phy's support switching of tx/rx .. particulary thouse used in routers/hubs etc.
some nic's have that capability too . it's software yes .. but the hardware on which this is running must be able to support it .
