creating files/folders accessing root folder remotely



alright i am running Samba 3.0.7 on SUSE on my desktop here, now making a small lan and have my laptop connected and i have configured Samba so that I can log on an veiw edit my /home, the problem is i want user "MOO" to have root access remotely and i havnt been able to set that up properly

workgroup = NEVERLAND
netbios name = SAMBAKITA
domain logons = yes
encrypt passwords = yes
passwd program = /usr/bin/passwd %u
wins support = yes

[root]
path = /
read only = no
browseable = no
write list = MOO, root

The permissions for the /root directory have to allow the user MOO to read/write it locally for samba to be able to allow MOO to read/write there.

Proceed with caution, handing out root permissions can turn your Linux machine into a Windows box (ie insecure).

i put MOO in the group "root" with the same results, is there some other permission that i am missing

Edit
ok so i put MOO into root and changed all of the folders to writeable by "root" the group

but how do i change permissions on the base directory "/"
