covering dhcp & static routing

Hey,
we have a static network for 30 xp machines here, which all have fixed ip's.
As we have wireless lan runing here also, at the moment we have to give out ip's to every wlan user.
the problem is that we can't for a lot of reasons change everything to dhcp.
What I would like to do is cover a range from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.100
for the static xp machines and let redhat 9.0 (that's the server's os) give out dhcp adresses from 192.168.0.101 to 192.168.0.200.
Because then we can tell some of our networkssoftware that everthing from 1-200 in this ip range is allowed to acess certain network parts etc.

How do I get Redhat to do this?
Thanks

I might not be following you here but if you ip's are static they would not be getting them from dhcp. If you are saying that you want certain machines to receive the same ip from dhcp each time you could configure dhcp to offer leases base on hardware addresses. Addresses could then be grouped and assigned by pools. Read man dhcpd.conf. Bug again I am not certion I understand what you are trying to accomplish.

Hi,
yeah I was not clear: I want 50% static and the other 50% dhcp but just the special range

For your limited range of addresses, you can set your dhcpd.conf to

shared-network foobar {
subnet 192.168.0.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 {

range 192.168.0.1 192.168.0.100;
}

which will only give out leases in this address range.
I would recommend to make every client in your network DHCP client, and lock their ip address to their MAC address, as odious was saying.
