Correct Syntax for ethtool

Hi there --

We have a system running OpenSuSE 10.2, and I am trying to configure a gigabit ethernet card via the ethtool utility. What is the correct syntax to use? Thanks.

According to the man page, ethtool -s <ethx> speed 1000
