Connection timed out during "ftp put" process
I'm running an 'ftp put' from our RHEL 4 server, through the firewall to an external Windows server. I am sending a 3Gb file. The file transfer will run for approximately 45 minutes, and then ends with the following error:
netout: Connection timed out About 90 percent of the file was transferred. I have run this several times, and still get the same result. If I send this file from a Windows box, then the transfer completes without a problem. I have contacted the technical people on the other end, and they have no idea why my 'ftp put' would fail from RHEL, but work from Windows. Any ideas? |
firewall? is there a firewall after windows box?
|
Yes, there is a firewall. Keep in mind, over 2 Gb transmits before the failure.

yeah. if it's the same firewall i have no any idea, that's simply impossible.
