connection timed out;no servers could be reached


hi sir
i have configured Dns ON MY LOCAL lan
by manually editing /etc/named.conf and zone files
now the problem is that
when i dig nitin.com which i have made a zone nitin.com
error is:

;<<>>Dig 9.2.2-P3 <<>> nitin.com
;;global optionsrintcmd
;;connection timed out;no servers could be reached

i am frustated of trying and debugging it .
plz help me getting out of this frustation
