Unhappy connection refused to pop3


Hi, I trying to get this up, but I can't I'm using qpopper, under SuSE 7.3 I got a server with the Same OS running the same stuff, and one server is giving me this error, when I try to connect to the port 110

pegasus:~ # telnet localhost 110
Trying ::1...
telnet: connect to address ::1: Connection refused
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.
Escape character is '^]'.
Connection closed by foreign host.
pegasus:~ #

what I could do?

Exclamation hmmm

Hi ,

look there may be many reasons for this.
1. tcp wrapper or some other firewall is installed which is blocking the connections.
2. qpopper is not installed .... yes do check out if its installed.
3. qpopper is installed but not running on the prescribed port.

Thanks for the help, I just fixed, is working now, I have to made some minor changes in the inetd.conf to call the qpopper.
