Question Connecting to Windows workgroup

Is it possible to connect my new computer running a ubuntu version of Linux to my existing windows network?

This is my first attempt at Linux so I do not have even the most basic knowledge of what I am doing.

Thanks,

John

Depends on how you want to connect it.

If you just want to share files you can configure Samba on the ubuntu machine and share files.

If you want to access linux console from windows pc use a terminal client like telnet [putty is better client and can be downloaded freely]

Cheers

Thanks for the reply. I'll give Samba a try.
