Connecting to the Net via WinNT Server

I am trying to setup a Redhat 8 machine to connect to the net through our lan. The Server in Win NT.
When i setup the proxy to the ip address of the server and port 80, it tries to connect but it displays a "Error 407 Proxy Authentication Required".
Is there an application or setting i need to changed. My NT Log on and Password are the same as my linux user name and password.

Any idea's?

Thanks Tim

Ahh, if you're having difficulty using a windoze proxy server, I feel your pain. I've been through this, and found a solution.

Grab the following python script from:

http://toastytech.com/evil/msproxy.html

and run it on your Redhat box. This will get you past the authentication issue you're having.

On a side note - this very same question was one of the first I asked on this forum, along with my own answer to it. Did you try searching before asking the question?

Fixed

Thanks Rohang.

Although it didn't fix the problem.

For some reason the win clients hanging off the nt server arn't connecting to a proxy.

Anyway i downloaded Proxy+ and installed it on a win client and connect the linux box through it via socks and it works fine.
Proxy+ can run as a service on Win 2K so the user of the pc will never know.

the sooner we migrate to linux servers the better, microsoft sucks.

Thanks again.
