connecting to remote public ip VPN , client behind iptables NAT problem

Hello, I have a really strange issue, when I want to connect to a remote VPN that is public I always get rejected. I have my PC behind linux iptables NAT. When I use mirkotik as a gateway I can connect fine.
Protocol used is PPTP and natting is simple masquerade, I have no more iptables rules just this one.
Internet is working fine, just connecting to VPN is a problem.
Anyone had similar issue?
