Connecting to my VPN

The only way I can connect to the servers at my school to transfer files to my webserver, etc, is to do it via a VPN. I am running Mandrake 10.0 and am connected to the internet via Charter Pipeline cable internet. Can I set up a connection the the VPN in a similar way to windows, where I just click an icon to connect and then click in the system tray to disconnect? Any help on setting up the VPN connection would be greatly appreciated.
