In Slackware type "pppsetup" in a console. It will ask for info, enter it, type ppp-go and you're done. This is the only distro I'm familiar with, but I would imagine others have similar utilities. If you really want to go old school, use Lynx or Links as a browser.

There is a program you most likely already have called wvdial. The setup program for it is called 'wvdialconf'. The setup program produces the /etc/wvdial.conf file.
Here is a web page explaining how to run it. http://linux.about.com/library/cmd/b...wvdialconf.htm This page shows the man page for the wvdial program itself. http://linux.about.com/library/cmd/blcmdl1_wvdial.htm And this page explains the configuration file. The wvdial program will use auto detection and produce many of the entries automatically. http://linux.about.com/library/cmd/b...vdial.conf.htm |
