Connecting to a VPN Server

Alright, how do I connect to a VPN Server. What programs do I use? How do I access the network on the other side after I connect? Any info will help, cause I'm lost.

Need lots more info

RTFM on how to ask a question.

What OS are you using to try and connect to the VPN?
Is this a work VPN or private?
If for work, have you already asked your IT person this question?
Do you have the address and account information for connecting to the VPN?
Is the VPN server a Windoze box or some flavor of nix setup for PPTP?
Do you have admin rights on the server for possible config tweaks?

There is no one answer to your question as asked. You need to narrow down the possible answers by providing more data in your question. Once we know your situation, someone here will be more than happy to provide you with a suitable answer. The more thought out the question, the more accurate the answer will be.
