Connecting to a vpn

hey everyone,

still definately a linux n00b, but doin my best to get over that

Im trying to connect to the windows network at work. Ive gotten to the point of establishing the connection with pptp client, the only problem is that i cant access the domains DNS server. when i try to connect to any of the intranets' http servers, i get a page cannot be found thingie, i think the problem is that i need to join the domain. i have read that it is possible with samba, and have tried a couple of examples, but none are really geared for exactly what i want to do, and when i modify it slightly, they just dont work.

any help would be greatly appreciated, just killed my windows partition for good on monday, and installed slack two days ago. this is one of the few remaining issues to goin totally linux, i just need to figure it out.

thanx in advance

Matt
