connecting to a 2K server

Here is the problem.. small home network 1 "win 2K server with shares" 1 "Mandrake 9.2 box" working fine 1 "M$ XP pro box " works fine and 1 " Mandrake 10 laptop" all these connect to a hub and get dhcp IP addies from a smoothwall box which is my route out to the internet and all machines are working fine in the DHCP and internet area it is just the laptop refuses to connect to any of the network shares I have I have tried using samba and lin neighbourhood for configuration I can see the box but not connect to anything on it the Mandrake 9.2 box connects and does everything properly I have even tried exporting the config from the 9.2 box and importing it into the V 10 box but no joy.
