HI EVERYONE,
Connecting SUSE 9.1 personal seems to be a suck it & see experience. YAST says that my modem is connected even though I beleive it is what is known as a windows modem INTEL(R) 563EP MODEM. I am anable to get even a dialing tone let alone a connection. Suse themselves & magazines like micro mart are all busy telling us how good these linux OS's are but do now give details on the most important aspect of a home PC. ie the fact that it needs to connect to the internet. Would anyone know the step by step process for doing this without the 'LINUX jargen'which is often difficult to follow. MANY THANKS to enyone who could shed some light on this problem.

Unfortunately I cannot help you, but have tried using the new SuSE 10.1? 9.1 came out a few years ago. Perhaps the most recent version may work with your modem. Just a suggestion.
