Connecting remotely to a linux system from a windows system

I am new to linux and don't know much about the OS.

I have enabled linux remote desktop and I have set up the network.
But for some reason my windows system does not want to connect to the Linux system.

I was just wondering how to fix the problem and if it may have to do with the network configuration being wrong or what

Thanks:scratch:

Helps if you say HOW you're trying to connect to it... sharing from a linux machine is most likely using vnc, so you'll need to use a vnc client.

Ok , vnc? elaborate

Can you give me everything I have to do in sequence.
As I Said I am new to linux. I just know the basics:cry:

vnc is a (number of) visual remote control application, that works just fine on windows too.. it's not a linux program. see google for more details about it.
