connecting linux to windows98 home network and dsl internet

This is my 1st time with Linux. I believe I have made the connection. I can ping the other computers. I can ping other sites. I can't get to the internet. I tried to start the networking, Konqueror Web Browser, but it just blinked. I tried to use open office and did the register...it looked like it made a connection, but in the end it said Form method /user/index.php not supported.
Any ideas?

Have you checked you /etc/resolve.conf for proper nameservers?

Anyway...I said I was brand new at this right?
As it turns out...in hunting around...I don't think Ihad enough software packages installed. I installed Mozilla. I can go places now!

OK sounds like you all set. I meant "/etc/resolv.conf" BTW this lists all the nameservers you will use to lookup names to IP addresses;
