connecting a new machine to an existing network

Hi all,
our network in my company based on sun solaris server and a couple of workstations connected to it(some are sun solaris and other are redhat linux)
I want to connect a new workstation to this network. I tried to connect redhat machine but when try to login, it won't let me in. my account is working fine on other machins connected to this network, so I don't assume a proplem with my account. I loged in as root and tried to give it another static IP address, then I pinged the server and it works fine but still when I try to log in with my account it failed.

please help me with this problem, what files I have to check or configure on this machine? or is there any files missing? or maybe something needs to be configured on the server?

I tried with other machine(solaris) but still the problem exist.
Please help.

Thanks

Hi,

Welcome to LQ!

You did create a new account for the RH machine for the user on the RH machine that you attached to the network?
