connect ad-hoc wireless thru laptop to ethernet

Here is what I have:

ISP-box <==Z==> 100baseT <==Z==> laptop

Here is what I want to do:

Using the same laptop,
  • enable an ad-hoc wireless net
  • connect wifi device(s) to wireless (camera, tablet, etc)
  • use the laptop to pull from the devices (camera video, tablet content, etc)
  • use the laptop to push the content to the net

Why this approach?
I could connect the ISP to a wifi-gateway and run a private wifi-LAN. That requires more equipment and more set-up. I want to go somewhere power-on and start using.

Thanks in advance,

Depends on the wireless adapter/ drivers capabilities of all your devices.

If you are using network manager on your laptop then you can easily set up an ad hoc network if your wireless adapter / driver has that capability.
