Hi all, I'm not completely new to Linux but I am to OpenSuse. I am trying to set up a VPN. I open VPN Gateway and Client and I am pretty well lost. Not at all like Ubuntu systems.
It's hard to know where you are getting stuck. Some questions....
1. What type of VPN are you trying to configure?
2. Are you using Network Manager to do this? That is essentially distro agnostic, although the NM applets do differ between desktop environments a little. So, you might want to tell us which DE you're using.
After I read your reply Ferrari where you mentioned Network Manager, I went back and looked at that. Turns out it is pretty much the same as Ubuntu based systems after all. What had me confused was that I was trying to do it in YaST under VPN Gateway and Client, which may or may not work for this. This particular issue is solved for me. Thanks again.
Glad to have been of assistance. BTW, just to clarify for others who come searching, the YaST network tools are used when wicked (similar to traditional ifup) is used for network management.
