configuring three network card for internet and lan


Hello All geeks
I have a three ethernet cards which detected properly in redhat enterprise linux 4 ws
*******************
eth0
eth1
eth2
*************************
i using eth0 for Internet connection thru lan
configuration for eth0 is as follows
IP 203.211.205.71/24
GW 203.211.205.1
DNS 202.88.130.15
202.88.130.67
202.56.230.5
I configured it properly it working fine Internet is also working fine

I using eth2 for LAN
configuration for eth2 is as follows
IP 192.168.0.1/24
I configured it properly it working fine

I mada a proxy server for lan all other pc on lan getting the internet fine
*************************************
but I using eth1 for another internet account which have a pppoe connection
configuration for eth1 is as follows
IP 10.10.79.71/24
GW 10.10.79.1
DNS 202.145.115.4
202.145.115.5
***********************************
i use a graphical tool for network configuration in which i configured eth0 and eth2 perfectly
but while configuring eth1 where should i put the dns entry of that connection bcz i ve already dns entry of eth0 in that
I entered it into /etc/resolv.conf
but still not working
I ve to make a bonding of this two internet connection
and share it to across LAN
plz plz help me out from this prob

Well... I guess you don't have to put it anywhere.

If I'm not wrong, DNS and interfaces configuration are independent. Your MACHINE has a DNS address where he looks for DNS queries, and your INTERFACES have an IP configuration.

So if you already put it in /etc/resolv.conf, you don't need to "add it again" for eth1.

But if you really want to learn how it works, do it on the command line. You'll understand much better what I just told you.
