configuring squid

hello guys..

at last i have installed squid but now there is onw more problem
i opened the configuration file /usr/local/squid/etc/suid.conf but i cannot edit the file to configure me squid server so please tell me how to configure squid and one more thing is that is this the only way to configure the squid server don't the squid server have any web interface or kind of that thing so that we can configure our server plz help ..

Check out webmin at http://www.webmin.com

It is a browser based gui for a lot of services on your machine. It has an excellent Squid server interface.

Did you get an error when you tried editing the squid.conf? It may require root privilages if you installed to /usr/local to write to the file.
