I installed smb4k version 0.5.1 and I expected it to see the whole network alone but actually it didnt and rescanned more than once and still it can't see any computer
I am working in a network of 5 pc's (4 of them windows XP and I am the fifth)
My IP Address is 192.168.1.3
The router IP is 192.168.1.1
the workgroup name is MSHOME
So wht am I supposed to fill in the configuiration of the smb4k as to be able to see the whole network ?
Under Authentication-->Host & Shares, I listed the names of all the host machines that I want to access and now I can see all machines In smb4k. Hope this helps :-)
Have you made your linux box a member of the MSHOME group? Take a look at the samba section-->nmblookup tab. You can leave those fields blank, when you click on the share you want to access a dialog box will popup asking for username & password.

In smb4k go to the following: Settings-->Configure Smb4k-->Samba(select the icon)-->Nmblookup(3rd tab) and you will see the section Smb Domain(workgroup), put MSHOME in there. I'm not sure if I had to reboot, if you don't see anything then do one.
