configuring mail for konsole

how do I use the mail command in console? I want to be able to check my hotmail or another mail from my provider in konsole, but I have no clue how to set it up and how to use it.

I've also been searching the internet but haven't found anything.

Oh yes, I'm using mandrake debian knoppix slackware and DSL I don't know if there is any difference if the internet connection is up. mostly I use debian and mandrake.

thx
Wannes

"mail" as a command, is only really for sending mail via an automated process. you don't want it. have a look at other console clients, like pine or mutt. if you want to access hotmail, you're going to have to work harder though, as M$ are gits. you will need to install a hotmail proxy like hotwayd to let normal mail clients pretend that hotmail is accessible though the local proxy as a standard mail server. hotwayd will then translate imap commands into the reverse engineered hotmail protocols. (btw. hotmail sucks...)
