Configuring fedora core 3 as a router

How do i go about configuring fedora core 3 as a firewall or router? I have already installed fedora core 3 and has 'Enabled Firewall' Thanks in advance

Unless there is some reason this machine needs to be running a full distro, you would be better off installing something like SmoothWall on it instead of Fedora.

There is no particular reason ... I just want the hands on ...

hehe......

To set up your firewall run "system-config-securitylevel" , i guess that's what you did.......
Theres also a file you can mess with directly "/etc/sysconfig/iptables"

- You can run your firewall on a standalone system directly connected to the internet
- Or on a gateway system that connects a local network to the internet

Which of these scenarios you want to get your "hands-on" ??

I did not run "system-config-securitylevel". All i did was just to install fedora core 3 only.

I am not too sure. I know i hvae to use 2 network cards for the process.

I'm in the process of doing just that (configuring Fedora Core 4 as a firewall router). Mine will be selinux enabled and be pretty hardcore with the security. It'll also be running DNS (at first - this won't be the final configuration - but I figure selinux and everything well configured enough and DNS on this box should be pretty safe). Anyways, I'll be posting notes when I get it going.
