configure network card dhcp

I'm having problems setting up my network card to receive a dynamic ip. I tried the command 'dhcpd eth0' but it comes up with the argument of 'write a subnet declaration in the dhcpd.conf file for the network segment to with the interface eth0 is attached'.

Any ideas.

it should be 'dhcpcd' not 'dhcpd'. dhcpd is for the dhcp server not client
