What is running on the PC that can connect? -- XP Pro?
Can the XP Home box ping the Samba server? Then there is the error msg.: Quote:
Beware, I am only a student of Samba . . . |
Anybody?
Both PCs are not working now... |

Yes, can ping the server. Yes, synced user names with each other, Unix and Samba Adding that line has no effect on the Samba share "data". |
FYI: Windows XP Home Edition does not include the necessary security tools to login to a domain, whereas Windows XP Professional Edition does. It looks like your samba config is setup as just a workgroup stand-alone server, so that shouldn't be a factor. One way to test that is to run testparm. Pay attention to the line "Server role:".
You can also check /var/log/samba/log.smbd & log.nmbd for any errors or failures. What does /var/log/syslog have to say about samba, smbd or nmbd? At least, that's what everybody has been telling me to check for my Domain PDC. :study: |
