COmputer crashes when copying files
 

Hi all.

I do not know if this is a networking problem or a hardware problem so i posted here. The problem is: when i try to copy a file from the linux server to my windows machine the linux server suddenly restarts. I have tried using SFTP (22) and samba. Both situations just crash the linux machine at the beggining of the copying process. Could you please help me?

Is there any network functionality on the Linux server? HTTP, Mail, SSH, etc.? The first step in diagnosing the problem is to establish that the networking hardware is functional. Did this fault suddenly start occurring on a previously functional system, or is this a new installation? What Linux distribution are you using? What networking hardware? Has the hardware in its present configuration ever supported an OS with functioning networking?
Please post here, the output from ifconfig and lsmod.
