My Pc
p4 2.4
128 ddr
gforce 5200 128 ddr
40 gig seagate hdd
memorex dvd/cdrw
onboard ac 97 audio
realtech 8139 ethernet

my question is why is my intewrnet connection so slow in linux on my router, but is fast on xp on my router. When i connect my cable modem directly to my pc windows xp and linux are fast. When i connect linux to the router internet is 15 seconds to load a page. Xp has fast internet when connected directly to modem and to router.. SXo i dont get it....

Probably most likely due to the configuration of your NIC when used on or behind the router caused by network collisions, etc. Might want to try using half duplex or full duplex on your NIC in Linux to test, etc.

Try searching around here or on on configurations methods for different duplex options, etc.
