Compaq Presario 2200 modem setup in linux

Here's the scoop:
I have a (ancient, yes) Compaq Presario 2200 that I'm going to install feather linux on. I'm having trouble setting up the modem with linux. I know it is a winmodem, but does anyone know what kind, how I can set it up with linux, etc. This is dualboot with win98.

Most Presario's had Lucent WinModem's but some had US Robotics too. If you can't tell what kind from the Compaq 2200 Presario system setup (BIOS) then you need to run the Linux check utility from here > http://www.heby.de/ltmodem or here > http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/Linmodem-howto.html or here > http://linmodems.org/ and there is a HOWTO here in the Linux Tutorial section > http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ticle&artid=34
