communicating between host (windows 7) and guest ( OEL 5) VMWARE problem !!!!!!!

Hi guys!
I am not gona take your precious time. The thing is that i am gona install oracle database 11gR2 64bit on OEL 5. For this i have to runinstaller on Xmanger 4 application on the host machine ie windows 7 and with communicating with guest machine ie on vmware linux machine. now the steps that i came to know across my little knowledge is set some network configuration and i am describe this briefly as under

1. SELINUX=permissive
2. make firewall disable
3. /etc/xinetd.d/tftp
make disable property 'no'
4. cat /etc/hosts/
192.168.0.106 oradb.oraia oradb
192.168.0.106 localhost.localdomain localhost
5. make disable firewall of host machine (windows 7)

The working part

1. when i ping on host machine by giving ip of guest machine it gives 100% transfer of packets mean it works

2. but in case of ping on guest machine(linux) there is confusion

(when windows firewall remains disabled)initially it pings the host machine but when use Xmanager with oracle user using there to run the "runinstaller" to first of all refused to recon my guest machine and by that when again i ping the host ip on my guest machine it doesnt work (always).

similarly i do enable firewall on windows again it works mean ip of host pings on guest machine (strange). but useless when again use Xmanager (which is on host machine ) .........

this makes me confused because besides that i have to use CuteFTP application on host machine to transfer files from there to guest machine ..................

if any linux helps me in this regard it would be great full
THANKS IN ADVANCE
