Clients can not access internet via SQUID

I have a VPS box running Ubuntu Server 12.04.

I have installed squid and only changed the following two options:

http_acess to allow all and the port to 8080.

Then I went to my browsers to test if it works by setting the IP and port to 8080. Then I found that I can not access internet.

My VPS is using Venet0 and venet0:0 network adapters!!

I need your help setting this!!

1. did you write http_acess (as you stated above) or http_access (needed by squid) in the squid.conf file ?

2. try binding a different port and check if it works.

3. check your firewall settings.
