cisco vpnclient - can't read profile

I'm trying to connect to my work using this vpnclient and I basically copied the sample configuration file provided and saved it as a test, but I get the following message when I try to connect:

bash-2.05b# vpnclient connect test
Cisco Systems VPN Client Version 4.0.5 (Rel)
Copyright (C) 1998-2003 Cisco Systems, Inc. All Rights Reserved.
Client Type(s): Linux
Running on: Linux 2.4.26 #6 Mon Jun 14 19:07:27 PDT 2004 i686

The profile specified could not be read.

But when I run the sample:

bash-2.05b# vpnclient connect sample
Cisco Systems VPN Client Version 4.0.5 (Rel)

Has anyone else had this problem before?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
