You have me confused. I use a web interface to configure my Cisco router. I think I recall there is a stand-alone program for Windows, but I have never needed it. FWIW.

Why do you use the webinterface and whats the model of the router?
There are a difference of configuring enterprice routers compared with routers targeted for the consumer market.
But i agree everything does not need to be done on consolemode no mather if its a router or a computer.

They are all enterprise level cisco routers 800,1800's etc, 10 in total at various locations for the same org. I was looking to use the Cisco Configuration Pro util because one of my minions is a little iffy on the CLI and if not using it constantly probably wont retain. I wanted to show him an easy way to work the routers remotely and centrally. My brain started whirling and I just figured I would ask around if anyone has it running under linux for giggles.

Ah, I think I remember now - the config software comes in handy in an enterprise environment when you need to configure and maintain multiple routers. I only have one. I don't recall the model - I don't pay that much attention to it, lucky me.
I do recall it being a windows program, also. Sorry - I can't be any help on this one!

Have your minion become attuned to the ways of the CLI, the power is within you to do so! i have only used cisco prime infrastructure for easier configuration on the switches but that costs alot.

Some of those windows apps might work in wine.
Some of the cisco products have a gui that can be enabled but off by default. The config app was an interesting way to one click configs. Almost every router/switch admin uses cli.

But if you work in a enterprise organisation and handle multiple routers i assume that you have some tool for it that is web based and it will do the same job in any browser?

The console is usually a new or warranty unit to be installed. Tftp is for single or a few at a time.
If an entire site needs some update or change then you tend to have to do them one at a time. We do have some automated product on windows to do massive deployments and in some cases interaction between active directory.
