Cisco change the name of an interface

Hi,
I was wandering if it was possible to change the names of an interface.
My example is this I have a serial "serial0" and "serial1" on my router is it possible to call them say "serial0/0" or "serial0/1" or are we stuck with them as they are.
Regards Nige.

no, not possible. the numbering convention is important, and isn't just a successive number.

btw, have you discovered dynamips yet?
