Cisco ASA 5505 and OpenVPN

Hello all,

My boss gave me the task (on a very tiny budget) of wanting to connect our remote offices to our network. Solution I came up with is Site-to-Site VPN.

I want to use OpenVPN on the Linksys Routers (again very tiny budget) and have them connect to our Cisco ASA5505 Firewall, but I am running into major problems.

Question is, even though they both use IPSec SSL are they compatible? If not, is there a work sround? Thanks.

There is no such thing as "IPSec SSL". IPsec is a network layer protocol with security features and can be used for VPN. SSL (TLS) is an application-layer protocol for securing arbitrary data streams. OpenVPN uses SSL on top of TCP (NOT IPSec), and its own protocol on top of that. So, NO, they are not compatible at all. To connect with an IPSec VPN, you need an IPSec VPN client.
