CIFS- Connecting to DFS root not implemented yet

Hi guys, in kernel 3.2.x ( supplied with ubuntu 12.04.1 ) my cifs mount works but in dmesg I see a " CIFS VFS: default security mechanism requested. The default security mechanism will be upgraded from ntlm to ntlmv2 in kernel release 3.3 ", however that works.

I just compiled kernel 3.6.2 and it seems same mount does not work anymore and comes back with error: cifs_mount failed w/returncode= -22, CIFS VFS: Connecting to DFS root not implemented yet ".

Any idea what is going on here, did I miss something from the kernel, my first hunch was " DFS feature support " but that did not work out, for convenience : File systems-> Network File Systems:

--- Network File Systems
<M> NFS client support
<M> NFS client support for NFS version 2
<M> NFS client support for NFS version 3 [*] NFS client support for the NFSv3 ACL protocol extension
<M> NFS client support for NFS version 4[*] Provide swap over NFS support
[ ] NFS client support for NFSv4.1 (EXPERIMENTAL)[*] Provide NFS client caching support
[ ] Use the legacy NFS DNS resolver
< > NFS server support
[ ] RPC: Enable dprintk debugging
< > Ceph distributed file system (EXPERIMENTAL)
<M> CIFS support (advanced network filesystem, SMBFS successor) [*] CIFS statistics
[ ] Extended statistics[*] Support legacy servers which use weaker LANMAN security [*] Kerberos/SPNEGO advanced session setup
[ ] CIFS extended attributes
[ ] Enable additional CIFS debugging routines[*] DFS feature support[*] Provide CIFS client caching support
< > NCP file system support (to mount NetWare volumes)
< > Coda file system support (advanced network fs)
< > Andrew File System support (AFS) (EXPERIMENTAL)
